Phantasy Sound regulars Cowboy Rhythmbox return to the imprint this November with three esoteric cuts entitled ‘Terminal Madness’.

After solid releases throughout 2018 from Daniel Avery, Ghost Culture, James Welsh and Red Axes to name a few, Erol Alkan’s Phantasy Sound return with a triple pronged battle weapon from Cowboy Rhythmbox that takes in inspiration from a wealth of disparate elements; the brutal drum machine swagger of early Chicago house, the murky world of 1980's video arcades, the bleeps of Sheffield, arcane home computing documentaries recorded to VHS, public access TV.

‘Terminal Madness’ , 'Hands Inside the Car' and ‘Vodonik’  deliver as per with Mssrs Wilkins and X dropping their hard hitting stripped back electronica which will sound epic in the most cavernous of rave palaces or the most intimate seedy basement.

CURSES DEBUT ALBUM 'ROMANTIC FICTION' RELEASING ON 26th OCTOBER
Picture
Picture
Romantic Fiction - the debut LP from Curses - is an honest musical expression drawing influences from his youth growing up in NYC in the 80s. References to new wave, post-punk, synth music and early EBM are skillfully merged with the DIY approach of punk and rock n roll angst. Brandishing an immersive sonic palette, all instruments throughout the album were played and recorded by the artist. Exhausted by the current state of competitive dance music monotony, Romantic Fiction is a collection of songs, not DJ tools: songs that work at home, but also in the club should the right crowd beckon.

R&S WELCOMES ACID MONDAYS
R&S welcomes Acid Mondays for a 12" of lysergic house music that reaches far into the outer cosmos.

Formed "somewhere in the 5th dimension” Acid Mondays is the cosmic coalition of fellow psychonauts Negghead (Dan Ward) and Lex Wolf (Alex Wolfenden).

Repeated transformative visits to Ibiza culminated in landing regular slots at Circoloco where they have been testing this tune in the dance all Summer long.

‘Universal Rhythm’, their latest interstellar dispatch and debut on R&S is their finest work to date. An anthemic paean to the cosmos that features an impassioned spoken word missive from shamanistic MC Shovell, impressively recorded in a single take, making the case for the universality of experience and oneness of all beings.

^^^Pre-Order for the 9th February^^^
Latin rhythms fuse with a driving Fender Rhodes lick (provided by JD73) and percolating cow bells to hypnotic effect. This calls to mind a combination of classic Carl Craig and Villalobos at his most playful. R&S new signing The Maghreban supplies a killer dubbed out take on the original that strips away the heavy kicks and pumps up the percussion, hurtling the synth pads to the fore that comes on like John Carpenter peaking on MDMA.

JR's DEADSTOCK 33's DROP STUNNING 7" ON PARADISE PALMS
Picture
Numerical Discord Swap / Cyborg Holiday Snaps is available to pre order now on 7” or buy on the 4th December and digitally on 8th December. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Dive-bar turned record label Paradise Palms presents a brand new 7” from revered producer Justin Robertson, a man with over 23 years experience as an innovator and restless proponent of fascinating forward-thinking music.

Justin's latest incarnation as The Deadstock 33s has been garnishing lavish praise from figureheads such as Andrew Weatherall and Erol Alkan, as well as a diverse cross-section of fresh talent, from Daniel Avery to Eats Everything.

Numerical Discord Swap / Cyborg Holiday Snaps is a double-whammy 7” of alien machine funk crafted by the rave pilot himself. The titular track launches headfirst into hissing electro territory with pounding rhythms and Detroit-strength bass stabs, while Numerical Discord is a low-slung 110bpm Acid weapon.

REYKJAVIK606 SIGN UP TO FORBIDDEN COLOURS
The next signing of Forbidden Colours are modular nerds Kino Internacional and Borja Piñeiro from Reykjavik606 who always challenge the fine line between music-making and story-telling.

For “A1 - Everything Happens For A Reason” the duo join forces with the maestro Odei Astibia on the drums, where they jam on the infamous Mecca Studios for a really beautiful mind trip.

On the flip side “Lake Nakaumi” leads listeners to some lonely scenario where the modular and pads travel together on the same wagon. Forbidden Colours called Basque techno leader Kastil for a remix who recorded a 7 minutes straight and trippy techno.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled for when this drops on vinyl and digital on December 15th

THE HACKER - LE THEATRE DES OPERATIONS
Picture
Picture
Pre order it now over on Bandcamp or get it when it releases on the 15th November.
‘Le Théâtre des Opérations’ is 8 new tracks spread evenly across 2x12”s cut at 45rpm for maximum sound quality and DJs. The title comes from a metaphysical journal by French-born Canadian science fiction writer Maurice G Dantec. Passionate about avant-garde techno, The Hacker has weaved his influences (Jeff Mills, Drexciya, early Aphex Twin) into a unique sound on this album that can best be described as a walking homage to the power of the synthesizer. Songs veer from gritty, raw EBM to dark, subterranean electro, effortlessly channelling the strains of the Michel’s musical DNA: Front 242, Jeff Mills, Dopplereffekt, SPK. The only vocal track features an appearance by longtime friend and collaborator Miss Kittin named “Time X” after the French science fiction television series Temps X. All songs have been mastered and lacquer cut by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Cover artwork features a collage by London-based artist Anthony Gerace and each copy includes a postcard featuring a photo of teenage Michel from 1989.
MUSICA NOCHE & CLANDESTINO HIT SHOREDITCH
Indefinable Leeds based collective Clandestino head south tomorrow evening to host their first party in our nations fair capital.

Taking over the top floor of Shoreditch rave den Horse & Groom all night; the London gig is part of a series of parties to promote their imminent fourth release on their label. We caught up with the trio to get the skinny:

“We’ve played London a few times but this is the first time we’ve been let loose on a venue with the opportunity to host our own Clandestino event, so we’re pretty hyped. Horse & Groom is always loads of fun with a great crowd and we’re looking forward to playing across the board and of course get people dancing”.

Already this year Clandestino’s genre-bending style has seen them rock parties in Berlin and Moscow with a main-stage appearance at this years Alfresco Festival. With a penchant for wonky disco jams, afro heavy house and straight up acid trax, Horse& Groom’s intimate rowdy space should be well worth a visit to check the guys out.

WILL SAUL AND TEE MANGO PRESENT PRIMITIVE TRUST
The 'Fallen Down EP' is the second release from Tee Mango and Will Saul’s Primitive Trust project, featuring a remix by Shanti Celeste.
The title track weaves percussive shuffles and vocal refrains with glowing synths, whilst colourful melodic layers and resonating vocal stabs armour the choppy live drums of ‘Day One’.

Dekmantel regular Shanti Celeste does what she does best with her remix of Fallen Down in building a rich, hypnotic groove that steadily develops with intricacy and depth, whilst ‘Big Tracky Disco Tool’ is exactly that.

DOKTA DROPS 2nd NATURE EP ON 20/20
Fusing a fully analog working method & live instrumentation with a breathtakingly unique arrangement style, DOKTA combines all his experience working with some of the best in the business.

For his first EP on 20/20 there are remixes from fabric resident Jay Clarke, and a collaborative contribution from Seth Troxler and Bas Ibellini. It is a major milestone for 20/20 to finally have a Seth Troxler production on the label as he’s been a great inspiration for and a massive champion of 20/20's output over the years. Seth went into the studio with good friend Bas and came out with a remix worthy of DOKTA's long abstract arrangements.

With an album in the pipeline for later this year the 20/20 boys promise there is a lot more to come…

“2nd Nature” is out on vinyl 14th July and digitally on the 7th August...... Have a listen below
