Review: FLXXX - Mayo Kayer EP

Picture
"Punchy, kick ass synth action at low bpm, mental sequences, fat basses and clean synths" but its so much more.

FLXXX are Ands Mega and Alfredo Montessori , the Mayo Kayer EP released on the 5th April and Teniente Castillo's label Play Pal has done it again with aplomb .

The original mix of "Mayo Kayer" kicks things off with an intense spaced out vibe that feels deliciously dark with dreamy keys and crisp percussion, while the second original offering from the Mexican maestros "Delores" feels more melodic and relaxed with a real 80's synth sound flowing through it setting you up nicely for the third track which is the gents original mix of "Mayan Ghost" be prepared people. This hits you like a thunderbolt, a heavy industrial vibe flows through this with a spine tingling layer of additional effects which add to the intensity of the track.

The remix package on the Mayo Kayer EP is pretty heavy duty too. The Play Pal team have lined up Ireland's ever consistent "Future Bones" Stephen Mulhall and Leo Pearson, Cornwalls Kieran Holden, and Nein Records big cheese Neil Parnell aka Tronik Youth.

I dont want to spoil your fun but all 3 remixes are top draw and I'm far too polite to pick a favourite but rest assured all will reside nicely in many a set over the summer.

8/10
