Events: Vintage Future
In its second outing of 2015 Vintage Future returns for its 5th night to The Lamplighter in Northampton on the 6th June with guest Timothy J Fairplay (Crimes of the Future / The Asphodells).
Paul Willis organiser and promoter of the event has been in the scene since the early 90’s. Trips to Venus in Nottingham and Lost in London, Final Frontier as well as Weatherall’s Sabresonic and Haywire parties Vintage Future is the classic story of mates getting together, developing an idea and wanting people to enjoy good music for free.
“Vintage Future came around by chance after a private party that the residents played at”. It’s a philosophy I can completely buy into, with Nein Records Jonah Considine’s Contradisco the only other night of note in my opinion (cue Northampton promoter’s hate mail) pushing underground music in Northampton.
Residents Aidy West, Mark Worley, Tom Dicicco and Raymond Willis kick things off from 6pm and with free entry I sincerely hope the Vintage Future crew continue to push things forward in Northampton and if they keep pulling in names like Jaime Read, Rick Hopkins and Timothy J Fairplay I’m sure they will!
