Numb Mixtape - Oli Warriner
|
Here at Numb Magazine we’re always excited when we hear new music that triggers that "fuck me who’s this?" reaction and that was exactly what i said when I heard Oli Warriner’s ‘Twelve Young Sycamores EP’ which released on January 4th.
The EP includes contributions from Newcastle home boy James Hadfield in his Elisabeth Collective guise and Leeds wave maker Jo Howard or Bird of Paradise to his fans. Both do an outstanding (as expected) job of giving the EP a diverse flavour which will cater to all tastes but this is Oli’s show and his wonderfully drifting chug filled techno in “Twelve Young Sycamores” and the melodic keys and hypnotic tone of “Tropical Slow Dance” should really be savoured, the lads got a bright future. So fast forward a few weeks later and Oli has kindly graced us with the next Numb Mixtape and boy what a mix its is......
"The mix its an expression of some of the many genres that take my fancy, so wanted to get across my love for music through different sounds. I was heavily influenced by classic sounding house music growing up so wanted to include that in there as well as my more recent endeavours into the down-tempo, experimental world" Jump in and enjoy !!! |
