Label Spotlight: Rothmans

Picture
Consistency throughout your releases is something that all record label strives for and to be honest a lot fall short, one label however that consistently keeps that bar at a level that most envy and doesn't compromise of the quality of their tracks is a certain label called Rothmans.

Uniquely identified by the chosen art and unwavering in their homage to by gone footballing greats the Rothmans releases ooze a certain “I don’t care if you don’t like me, I know I'm good” confidence.

Since 2012 and the release of The Mario Kempes EP which saw Ali Renault, Chamboche, Emile Struntz and Rebel Soul Collective bring a wonderfully eclectic blend to the first release not a lot has changed and it doesn't have to........ bring together across an EP great artists and production talent and make a record, simpler than it sounds for sure but that’s what Rothmans does.
With contributions from Mark E, Aimes, Posthuman, Timothy J Fairplay, Max Essa, Brassica, ManPower, Naduve, Katzele, Cale Parks, Eddie C and the a four mentioned contributors to the Mario Kempes EP you can see what I mean.

So fast forward 4 years and 10 releases later and not much has changed with what quite frankly is a winning formula.

The first release of
2016 brings the legendary DJ Rocca to the Rothmans family with the Marco Tardelli EP which is due to land in April which I must also add includes a Daniele Baldelli mix of "Kratos" , Rothmans fans won’t be disappointed as the quality of not only artists but the EP is outstanding as we're treated to a full on assault of Italo synth funk madness which is top drawer......
