Event Review: AKA Comedy Club

AKA Comedy Night. Islington Assembly Hall Sat 26-9-15
OPENING NIGHT
Well what a privilege. Firstly to enter such a lovely preserved venue, right down to the old original wooden toilet seats!
Secondly to be present at AKA Comedy's opening night.
Promoting a comedy night is not easy, but i have to say to Tony Dobson at Metropolis music...
Well done.
Going out in London to be entertained can be a risky business. Tonight the risk disappeared as soon as a well informed security welcomed us in to the friendly foyer.
You know when a venue feels right, and i know more than most having worked at Corsica Studio's for 7 years.
So so far 2 ticks for venue and staff.
Hello Loyde Griffiths you are our Compare and friend, and you became such with a lovely ease. From warming us up with stamps and claps, to confirming your other may i say impressive vocal talent! (You had to be there...) The wonderful way it was nice to see you after each break could just have been me. No i'm with someone...
"If your not laughing your learning." And learn we did about cathedrals ...
Excellent
Nish Kumar impressed because i have long hated Monopoly. Intelligent comedy is made funny. But again, he was our friend and for a few seconds brilliant also as an inspired Jeremy Corbyn flow could have stolen any show... More..
Excellent
And so to another Friend, Angela Barnes whose messy lazy flatmate reminded me so much of me...
Lovely effortless comedy from a clear talent who as an avid radio 4 listener i await her recently commissioned show.
Excellent.
After the last interval a Loyde at his best introduces Katherine Ryan
I think she owned the place. But she was our last friend. Candid at times but an insight into her life felt right. And i will never look at Cheryl cole again in the same light... Peter Andre was not available to comment but i'm sure would accept the complement. Had it been given
You are a talent Katherine and thank you, and we like that your a good Mum as well x
Excellent.
